FAQ

How long is the wire?

On the EFHW the wire is approximately 65 feet.

What is the rated power?

The Antenna is rated for 100 watts SSB, and 30-35 watts FT8, or other Digital modes.

Do I need a coax choke?

In most cases no. The shield acts as a counterpoise. However, even the smallest amounts of RF can cause issues with sounds cards, computers etc. If you are using digital modes, and or short length of coax it’s worth having one.

Do I need a counterpoise?

No, If you are using 25-50 foot of coax the shield acts as your counterpoise. If you wish to install one though, you can use a battery clamp and clamp it on the outside of the PL259 connector.

Are your antennas meant for long term use?

No! Our antennas are meant for portable use. You put it up and take it down. It’s not designed for long term use outdoors.

I broke my wire, what do I do?

Contact us first before attempting to fix yourself. We will try in everyway to help you out.
